Avi Israeli and Neil Lieberman Named Elite Boutique Trailblazers by The National Law Journal
New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partners Avi Israeli and Neil Lieberman have been named 2019 Elite Boutique Trailblazers by The National Law Journal. They are two of only 21 honorees recognized nationwide. Their profiles are available here and here.
As HSG’s first associate at its founding in 2012, to its first elected partner in 2014, Avi has played a major role in the success and growth of the firm over the past seven years. As a litigator, Avi became an early pioneer in billion-dollar RMBS cases stemming from the collapse of the housing bubble. More recently, he has taken on another innovative area of the law, becoming a pioneer in cutting-edge Cost of Insurance litigation. He also represents a Facebook co-founder in numerous actions concerning disputes with an investment advisor and its principals arising out of investments in Facebook stock.
As HSG’s twelfth hire in 2013 and its current administrative partner, Neil has used his background as a CPA – where he worked with some of the world’s most prominent accounting firms and multinational companies for more than 10 years – to help guide the firm through its continued growth. In his practice, he has worked on some of the most consequential matters in the courts, including Argentina’s standoff with U.S. hedge funds Elliott and Aurelius over its public-debt refinancing, and the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, in which Neil and his team recently secured a $2.4 billion award.
HSG partners Blair Kaminsky and Vince Levy were recognized on The National Law Journal’s 2018 Elite Boutique Trailblazers list.
