Daniel Sullivan Appointed to Board of Advisors of the Institute of Judicial Administration at NYU School of Law

07.12.2023

New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg partner Daniel Sullivan has joined the advisory board of the Institute of Judicial Administration at NYU School of Law. The Board includes a prestigious group of judges and appellate advocates widely recognized for their capabilities and contributions to the justice system.

A leader of HSG’s appellate practice, Dan and his team have participated in landmark SCOTUS cases and secured major appellate wins in a broad range of matters, including in groundbreaking mortgage crisis cases involving billions of dollars of claims relating to the collapse of the housing bubble. He has represented clients in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Second, Seventh, Ninth, Eleventh, and Federal Circuits, and in state appellate courts around the country including Delaware, Nevada, New York, and West Virginia.  In January 2021, he, together with counsel to his client’s co-defendants, won an order from the U.S. Supreme Court vacating a Second Circuit decision in an appeal with significant implications for insider trading prosecutions.  The Second Circuit ultimately vacated his client’s conviction in full.

Dan clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court and, before that, for Judge Diarmuid F. O’Scannlain of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Among other honors, Dan was named a New York Law Journal Rising Star in 2015; has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List since 2017, its Future Star List from 2018 to 2022, and as a Litigation Star in 2023; and was named to the New York Law Journal’s inaugural Trailblazer list in 2019 and to the National Law Journal’s Elite Boutique Trailblazer list in 2020.
