HSG Celebrates Black History Month

03.01.2024

Throughout the month of February, members of the firm participated in several social and educational events to celebrate Black History Month, including:

  • A wine-tasting event, hosted by HSG’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, featuring wines from diverse winemakers and winemakers of color. Attendees of the event enjoyed mingling and education on various wines, their food pairings, and the winemaking process.
  • An evening at the Harlem Chamber Players’ 16th Annual Black History Month Celebration concert, a sold-out event hosted by multi-disciplinary performing artist Helga Davis, featuring talented musicians, including harpist Ashley Jackson and vocalist, flutist, and composer Nathalie Joachim.
  • An interactive firm Lunch ‘n’ Learn highlighting the story of Carter Woodson, an accomplished historian, author, and journalist, and the founder of Black History month. The lunch featured live online trivia, a discussion on Carter’s life and successes, and live streamed tours of Carter’s neighborhood in Washington, D.C. and the Sweet Auburn neighborhood of Atlanta, once called the “richest Black street in the world.”
