Overview

Samuel Finn advises corporations and individuals on a wide range of litigation matters, with particular experience in contractual, employment, and civil rights issues.

Before joining Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, Samuel served as a law clerk for Senior Judge Carlos Lucero of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. His experience in private practice includes cross-border contract disputes as well as workplace discrimination claims and whistleblower suits. He has written on the federal preemption of #MeToo-inspired legislation.

While in law school, Samuel interned with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the National Student Legal Defense Network. Previously, he served as a policy intern on the campaign supporting Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s successful run for governor in 2018.

  • Visa Inc. and its subsidiaries in various matters, including their defense against class and individual antitrust actions brought by virtually every merchant in the United States and alleging hundreds of billions of dollars in damages.
  • Various affiliates of Chubb in nationwide litigation with manufacturers and distributors of opioids, and national pharmacy chains that sold opioids, over insurance coverage for over 3,000 lawsuits brought by governmental entities across the country.
