Firm Celebrates 10 Years Since Founding in 2012
New York—Ten years ago, the Hon. Richard Holwell stepped down from the Southern District of New York to co-found Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP with three of his former colleagues from White & Case: Michael Shuster, Daniel Goldberg, and Dorit Ungar Black.
Today, HSG has approximately 60 lawyers, including multiple former U.S. Supreme Court clerks. Known for its ability to try high-stakes commercial cases, both domestic and multi-jurisdictional, and the quality of its legal scholarship and writing, the firm has built an all-star team of lawyers, trained at the finest law schools, clerkships, and large litigation firms.
Law360 senior reporter Anna Sanders spoke with the name partners to discuss the firm’s successful recruiting strategy, approach to mentorship and giving back, and how its unwavering philosophy of “staying lean, mean and laser-focused on litigation and litigation alone” has paid off over the past decade.
