Overview

Ben Allen maintains a broad commercial litigation practice with an emphasis on antitrust law and federal investigations.

While at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Ben was the senior articles editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. Prior to joining Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, Ben served as an assistant attorney general in the Antitrust Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where he participated in investigations and litigation to enforce New York State and federal antitrust laws.

He also previously served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Gregory H. Woods of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Notable Cases

  • Various affiliates of Chubb in nationwide litigation with manufacturers and distributors of opioids, and national pharmacy chains that sold opioids, over insurance coverage for over 3,000 lawsuits brought by governmental entities across the country. HSG is national trial counsel to Chubb in opioid coverage litigation.
