Overview

Monica Coscia is a litigator focused on trial and appellate advocacy, with experience at all phases of complex commercial litigation, including antitrust, mass torts, immigration, and maritime matters. 

A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, Monica served as executive articles editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. During law school, she served as a student attorney in the Georgetown Law Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic, a legal intern for the Office of the Solicitor General for the District of Columbia, a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Constitutional Torts and Specialized Litigation Section, and a judicial intern to the Hon. George B. Daniels of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Prior to joining Holwell Shuster & Goldberg, Monica was a litigation associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

Notable Cases

  • Epic Games in antitrust actions alleging that Apple and Google engaged in anticompetitive behavior in the distribution of certain apps on smartphones and in the processing of in‑app purchases.
  • Costamare Shipping Co. S.A. and V. Ships Greece Ltd. in class action and limitation action in connection with the October 2021 oil spill off the coast of Huntington Beach, CA.
  • Petitioner in sealed Convention Against Torture appeal brought by petitioner on the grounds that the Board of Immigration Appeals erred in denying his motion to reopen.
  • Biosense Webster (a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary) in antitrust litigation brought by competitor Innovative Health alleging monopolization and restraint of trade in the nationwide market for the sale of high‑density mapping and ultrasound catheters.
