Jayme Jonat Receives Notable Women in Law Award from Crain’s New York Business
New York—Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partner Jayme Jonat has been named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2022 list of Notable Women in Law. This annual award recognizes female lawyers practicing in the New York City metro area for their outstanding professional achievements, pro bono work, and involvement with industry and community organizations.
Jayme was recognized for her involvement in numerous large-scale litigation efforts including defending Visa in antitrust litigation against many of the world’s largest retailers and representing a government-owned pension fund in claims against the world’s largest life insurance carriers. As part of her active pro bono practice, Jayme represents female pilots and flight attendants of Frontier Airlines in cutting-edge workplace discrimination cases, alleging that the airline’s policies toward pregnant and breastfeeding employees violate the Civil Rights Act. The cases, which are ongoing, could establish precedent on how employers must treat working mothers.
She was named to Euromoney’s Rising Stars – Best in Litigation shortlist in 2020, and in the same year was named a Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. She was also recognized on Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List in 2020 and 2021. Jayme’s Crain’s profile can be viewed here.
Jayme joins HSG founding partner Dorit Ungar Black, partner Blair Kaminsky and counsel Eileen DeLucia, who have all previously been recognized on the list.
