Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP associates Charlotte Baigent and Madison Gardiner have been named to Profiles in Leadership Journal’s 2026 Women Worth Watching in Leadership list. The recognition honors women who are “visionary, confident, and forward-thinking leaders who drive innovation and create lasting value within their organizations and industries.”

Charlotte’s practice spans complex commercial disputes, including representing Visa in multibillion-dollar antitrust litigation brought by major retailers challenging longstanding payment card rules, litigating a $5 billion contract dispute among Fortune 500 companies in private arbitration, and serving as first chair on behalf of Molecular Dynamics at oral argument before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on a novel question of international arbitration law. She was part of the trial team that represented Zunum Aero, Inc. in a trade secret dispute against Boeing, taking and defending multiple depositions and examining witnesses, including technical experts, at trial. She clerked at the Supreme Court of Canada and the British Columbia Court of Appeal before joining the firm. Read Charlotte’s profile here.

Madison maintains a broad commercial litigation practice at HSG, appearing at trial, on appeal, and in arbitration on many of the firm’s most complex matters. She recently played a key role in a Ninth Circuit appeal that secured dismissal of all claims in a trade secrets matter. She also litigated a high-stakes AAA arbitration involving claims exceeding $250 million. At the final hearing in March 2026, she first-chaired examinations of a fact witness and a damages expert, along with cross-examining the opposing damages expert. She also plays a key role on the team defending Visa in multi-district antitrust litigation brought by the nation’s largest retailers, where her contributions include spearheading pretrial submissions across a six-party joint defense group and defending favorable rulings on appeal.
