Benchmark Litigation Names Five Holwell Shuster & Goldberg Partners to Annual 40 & Under Hot List
New York—Five Holwell Shuster & Goldberg LLP partners have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List. The list recognizes attorneys 40 or younger who clients and peers have identified as the most promising emerging talent in their respective litigation communities.

Among other notable matters, their collective recent work includes the representation of Visa Inc. and its subsidiaries in various matters, including their defense against class and individual antitrust actions brought by virtually every merchant in the United States and alleging hundreds of billions of dollars in damages; PetSmart in a covenants dispute with lenders regarding $8 billion in debt obligations; the government-owned investment fund AIMCo, and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., as securities intermediary, in a series of cases against life insurers arising out of improper Cost of Insurance rate increases on certain groups of universal life insurance policies; and Caterpillar, Inc., in a successful appeal in New York’s First Department from an adverse verdict in asbestos litigation.
